Maths Day 2007

  Thursday 26^th April was Maths Day in St. Joseph ’s. Every class in the school, from infants to 6^th, participated in activities from 9.15 until lunch time. Activity stations were set up around the school and the yard and a huge range of areas were covered. Activities included

·        Hopscotch

·        Indoor games

·        Art

·        Measuring length

·        Measuring time

·        Measuring Capacity

·        Estimation

·        Tangrams

·        Maths Quiz

·        Computer activities

·        Maths Bingo

·        Guess the number of sweets in the jar –352 – The winner was Dylan in 2^nd class

·        Guess the amount of money in the jar - €26.16 – The winner was Jamie in 4^th class

A very enjoyable (and educational!) day was had by all.

We did maths programs based on Number in the computer room. The 6th class answered a mathematical Super Quiz.
