Green News:IMPORTANT
GREEN NEWS
March
2010 The
Green Home project is at a very
important stage at the moment. Having completed the Water theme, we are
currently embarking on the Travel theme
in our quest for the Greenhome Flag.
As part of this, boys in 4th and 5th classes are being
asked to read and fill in a themed booklet. Parents are requested to provide
help where appropriate. The completed booklets should be returned to the class
teacher before March 26th. The evaluation for the Greenhome flag will take place in three weeks. Naturally, this month’s W.O.W. competition is vital as we want it to highlight the progress we have made over the past three years. So with the great weather we’re having at the moment, let’s all get walking and cycling, not just on Wednesdays but every day!! Also, a reminder to switch off your lights and appliances on March 26th as part of Earth Day. GREEN COMMITTEE 2009

Feb. 2009This
year the Green Committee will be focusing on home/school links. The 4 areas we
have already covered (Energy, Waste, Water and Travel) are being brought
together into one theme. The
Greenhome theme this term is energy-saving. You are asked to discuss this
important topic with your child and to read and fill in the 8-page booklet
before the end of this term. On completion each participating household
will be awarded an Energy-Saving Certificate. As part of art in school, boys are
producing energy-saving slogans which will form a display on our Greenboards.
Remember, saving energy doesn’t just make sense ... it also makes cents!!!
