Computers

2009 - 2010

Laptops:
To facilitate greater access to computers in the classrooms we have a  laptop trolley with a selection of laptops. This will give the boys more 'hands-on' time outside of the allocated time as they may be utilised in the classrooms.

SEN:
Computers in Resource Rooms have been replaced

Classrooms and Virtualisation:
All computers in classroom have been replaced with new desktops. To further improve the ratio of computers to pupils we have introduced a system of virtualisation. When this system if fully rolled out over the next few weeks each classroom will have 4 computers for pupil use as well as the teaching laptop. This greatly increases the pupils access to computers especially for Accelerated Reader and research.
A special word of thanks to a parent who donated monitors to the school. This greatly reduced the cost of this development and made it very economical to implement.

2006:
All classrooms were equipped with a teaching laptop, a data projector, wireless keyboard and mouse and a visualiser. Many classrooms are also equipped with graphic tablets.

2004

We installed 22 Dell Optiplex computers in St. Joseph's BNS, October 2004. We also got a new server running Windows 2003 Server and a data projector. All the desktops are using XP Pro.

The desktops have flat screens as can be seen above and soundbar speakers for maximum use of space. We have optical 'mice', small form chassis and compact keyboards.
