Commander Eileen Collinslands in St. Joseph'sto launch our Digital CurriculumJune 13th 2006
Eileen Collins, Commander of the last Space Shuttle Mission, made a perfect landing in 'calm' conditions in St. Joseph's, Terenure on June 13th. 2006. The occasion was the official opening of our Digital Curriculum. She answered questions from the boys and girls
The astronaut describes how you are seated for the launch of the shuttle.
Mr. Hume presents Colonel Collins with a specially commissioned piece of Bog Oak depicting the Natural Earth.
Some really hard questions were posed by the Junior Infant class after they showed how they can use the Data Projector in their classroom
In 4th class Commander Collins had the chance to talk to a teacher and pupils in Finland using a video link.
5th class showed their in depth knowedge of space flight with some probing questions.
In the Parish Hall, Commander Collins answered some more questions from the all the boys in the school.

Members of the Parent's Association, that was so instrumental in the successful completion of this project, bid Commander Collins farewell.
Eileen is conferred with a Doctorate at UCD on Wed. June 14th. With her are the boys from the two 6th. classes.
